I really dont know why i think its a problem, but i still think its an unsolved problem.
The issue is that there are a lot of stray dogs in iit delhi and many more who have been added recently. You can see a lot of sweet-looking and adorable puppies. But my mind thinks of them only a menace. U see my heart is for them, par mere bheje mein thodi fite hai.
I guess its the background. In aamchi mumbai many of the plush localities have become critical of having stray dogs in their neighborhood and take a lot of care to sterilize & vaccinate them. And all of this is done very professionally, without the involvement of the gunda pound guyz. An i have actually seen this being done & i felt that there wasn't too much stress on the dog either.
What dazzles me is that here in delhi nobody even relates 2 this as a problem. When i spoke to the dean of stuo bdents, iit he seems te the least concerned and believes it has no importance. He said he tried to throw out the dogs out of iit but it didn't work of some dumb "Wolf Pack Theory". Its obvious that if u remove the dogs artificially, they would be replaced by others. But that isn't the right approach anywayz.
I gave a presentation for NSS on this issue and about the NGOs in Delhi who could help, but looking at the response, i understood that there was something missing in the people itself. People think that such kinda issues are not of importance. I told my frnds that the problem becomes visible later and they 2 agreed after 2 years.
Even now when i look at the cute puppies, i think that most of them aren't going to survive it in the long run as there is no one to really take care of them. Either u adopt them or ensure that there arent too much to worry about. But i guess nobody really cares a damn...
